The VEX IQ Challenge provides middle school students with exciting, open-ended robotics challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centered learning.
Science Olympiad is a team and individual competition in which students compete in 23 events pertaining to various scientific disciplines, including earth science, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.
The purpose of the Thinkers Club is to provide a safe and fun environment for students at Robert A. Taft Middle School where they can interact with each other while playing and solving riddles, puzzles and games.
Do you really enjoy English, Math, Science, or Social Studies? Join the Academic Bowl and learn more about the world through these subjects. We will meet twice per week in order to study for the competition in May. Each year is a new theme. You can choose to try-out for English, Math, Social Studies or Science in January.
Club meets: We meet twice a week from 3-3:30 on Tuesday and Thursday starting at the end of January. Students must study outside of club times (we suggest during resource) in order to be prepared for the competition.
The yearbook staff creates an 88 page hardcover yearbook to preserve the memories of the year. Staff members photograph ever sporting event, club meeting, music concert, and special events. They also interview their peers and create dynamic content in the book including layouts, headlines, and captions.

*Must maintain good conduct as a representative of the school with no discipline referrals.
Members develop self-awareness as they discover their passion to serve, their desire to lead and their ability to engage and collaborate with others in their school and community through service and volunteering opportunities.
